LionCash makes your Penn State id+ Card even more convenient. It's an online, prepaid flexible account that makes on- and off-campus purchases safe and easy. No cash? No problem. Just swipe and go.
LionCash is accepted at more than 300 on- and off-campus locations, statewide. Whether you're purchasing books for the semester, grabbing a bite to eat, making photocopies, or buying a football jersey, LionCash+ lets you do it all with your id+ card.
LionCash locations vary from campus to campus. View the list of participating merchants at each campus to see how you can get the most out of your LionCash.
It Gives You Buying Power
LionCash is accepted at most restaurants, shops, and stores on and around Penn State campuses.
Your photo id+ card is more secure than non-photo debit or credit cards. It's safer than carrying cash and your money is secure if you report your card lost or stolen. Plus, your funds are available immediately when you receive a replacement id+ card.
It Saves You Money
You can receive discounts or incentives at many participating locations every time you use LionCash, including a 10 percent discount on prepared items at most on-campus Food Services locations.
Using your Access Account User ID and password, you can check your balance, view your transaction history, deactivate a lost or stolen card, or make a deposit using a Visa or MasterCard debit or credit card.
Active accounts remain open and carry forward from semester to semester and from year to year. You can even request a refund when you graduate or leave Penn State.
Anyone - even family and friends - can make a deposit from anywhere with just a click of the mouse, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It Has Your Back
LionCash complements the Campus Meal Plan. Running short on dining dollars? Deposit funds into your LionCash account. When the Campus Meal Plan account is depleted, the cash registers at on-campus dining facilities will automatically deduct from your LionCash account, providing the optimal meal plan pricing. This eliminates the possibility that you'll need to forfeit remaining dining dollars at the end of spring semester.
Note: LionCash will not be accepted for the purchase of packaged alcohol or illicit drug paraphernalia. Merchants are also prohibited from accepting LionCash in exchange for cash. If you end up returning merchandise that you bought with LionCash, funds will be credited directly to your LionCash account in accordance with the merchant's return policy.
Getting started is easy and free. There are no forms to fill out or fees to pay. Simply activate your account with an initial deposit at one of the locations below:

Don't get caught without LionCash and miss out on exclusive discounts. Enroll in the LionCash payroll deduction program to have funds automatically deducted from your Penn State paycheck and deposited directly into your LionCash account.
Have a family member who attends or works at Penn State? You can have funds distributed into as many as five LionCash accounts in addition to your own account.
A Penn State employee can request a payroll deduction of $125 from each paycheck and designate $50 to be deposited into the LionCash accounts of her two children, who are Penn State students, and the remaining $25 to be deposited into her own LionCash account.
UPDATING YOUR DEDUCTION
You can update the amount of your payroll deduction and its distribution online at any time. It's convenient and secure.
Payroll processing normally occurs four business days prior to the pay date. If you submit a new deduction request close to processing time, your request might not be processed until the following pay date. If you have elected to deposit funds into multiple accounts and change the deposit distribution close to the time of payroll processing, the amount deducted from your pay may not match your new LionCash deposit distributions.
You will receive an email confirming that your deposit has been made. The amount requested will be deposited into the designated LionCash account(s) at approximately 10:00 p.m. on the day before the pay date. Those receiving a deposit distribution will also receive an email informing them of the deposit.
